Alison Krauss was born July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois. LeAnn Kymes and Alison Krauss were the two newest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss was born in July of 1971. Alison is a bluegrass and country singer. She began to work in the business of music at a very young age. at the age of 10, she won local contests, and then recorded her debut album. She signed with Rounder Records in 1985 and recorded her first solo album in 1987. The year 1989 saw her asked to be a part of Alison Krauss & Union Station together with whom she performed.
